Miro Company

Miro Company était un célèbre éditeur de jeux de société français, diffusant des jeux très connus comme Monopoly, Cluedo ou Risk.

Historique

La société Miro Company a été fondée à Paris en 1936 par un Russe de Riga, Fred Mirowitch, et un Américain de Londres, Leo J. Frankenthal. En 1950, Miro change de mains : Mirowitch et Frankenthal revendent l'affaire à Michel Habourdin et Jean Boisseau. Elle édite des jeux originaux et, à partir des années 1950, diffuse en France des jeux de Waddington Ltd. et de Parker Brothers, tandis que Parker diffuse aux États-Unis les jeux de Miro Company, comme Risk.

Miro Company devient en 1961 une société anonyme et en 1969, l'entreprise américaine General Mills en devient actionnaire majoritaire. En 1980, Miro Company fusionne avec Parker Brothers France, Meccano France et plusieurs autres sociétés et prend le nom de Miro-Meccano.

En 1986, les activités jeux sont acquises par Hasbro qui les intègre à sa gamme.
