William Luther Pierce

William Luther Pierce, né le 11 septembre 1933, mort le 23 juillet 2002, était un homme politique américain d'extrême droite.

Biographie

Docteur en physique, il fonde en 1974 son propre parti, National Alliance, qui prône la ségrégation raciale et dit lutter pour le salut de la race blanche. William Luther Pierce était également allié au Parti nazi américain.

Il est surtout connu pour avoir écrit, sous le pseudonyme d'Andrew McDonald, Les Carnets de Turner (The Turner Diaries), roman d'anticipation qui décrit un coup d'État mené aux États-Unis par des suprémacistes blancs. L'ouvrage est considéré comme ayant inspiré, par les scènes d'attentat décrites, plusieurs terroristes américains d'extrême droite comme Timothy McVeigh. Il a également écrit Hunter, un roman dans la même veine.

William Pierce s'est également occupé d'émissions de radio destinées à promouvoir ses vues politiques et d'édition de musique raciste.
