Lepidoblepharis xanthostigma est un petit gecko diurne qui se rencontre parfois sous le nom de gecko à queue orange (traduction du nom courant anglais Orange-tailed Gecko). Il a un aspect plutôt longiligne, avec une tête allongée et une queue allongée et relativement aplatie verticalement. Il est de couleur gris-beige, parfois plus sombre tirant sur le gris-brun.
