Leopoldo Cicognara

Le comte Leopoldo Cicognara (né à Ferrare le 17 novembre 1767, décédé le 5 mars 1834), est un archéologue, historien et critique d'art, homme politique italien.

Il s'est distingué par son amour éclairé pour les arts. Après avoir rempli des fonctions politiques éminentes, il fut nommé membre, puis président, en 1808, de l'Accademia di Belle Arti de Venise.

Son principal ouvrage est Storia dellia Sculptura, Venise, 1813-1818, 3 volumes in-folio, faisant suite à l'Histoire de l'art de Johann Joachim Winckelmann.
