Lee Child est un écrivain britannique né en 1954 à Coventry. Il a fait des études de droit à Sheffield puis il rejoint la chaîne de télévision Granada Television à Manchester. Il y resta dix-huit ans puis se lança dans l'écriture. Il vit actuellement à New York.
Il écrit des thrillers dont le héros récurrent, Jack Reacher, ancien officier de police militaire, pérégrine au travers des États-Unis.Comme tout dur à cuir du polar, Reacher est solitaire, froid, efficace et hanté par son passé. Ses ouvrages sont des best-sellers.
