Kranky est un label musical indépendant situé à Chicago, Illinois. Il a été créé en 1993 par Bruce Adams et Joel Leoschke, qui venaient respectivement des labels Touch and Go et Cargo. Le label est réputé pour produire des artistes qui combinent expérimentations, parfois parsemées d'influences électroniques, et rock traditionnel.
Leur première sortie a été un single du groupe Labradford en 1994.
