KnowARC (Grid-enabled Know-how Sharing Technology Based on ARC Services and Open Standards) est un projet de recherche et développement.
Il est financé en 2006-2009 par le Sixième programme-cadre (FP6) de la Commission européenne à travers le Conseil d'Administration F: Technologies Emergentes et Infrastrucures, du Conseil d'Administration Général pour la Société d'Information et Media, sous la Priorité des Technologies de la Société d'Information. Il inclut 10 partenaires de 7 pays européens et se concentre sur le développement dans le domaine des Grilles de calcul.
KnowARC améliore et développe la technologie existante comprise dans l'intergiciel de grilles de calcul ARC. Le projet a pour but d'augmenter significativement la connaissance et l'utilisation de cette génération future de l'intergiciel ARC. Le résultat du projet sera une extension d'ARC obéissant aux standards, un software Grid interopérable offrant des infrastructures de calcul pour le partage de savoir-faire pour les entreprises et la société. Le projet KnowARC va transformer ARC en un software Grid cohérent, fonctionnel et de qualité industrielle, prêt à être déployé dans une grande variété de plate-formes de calcul et inclus dans plusieurs systèmes d'exploitation.
