Sir John Fortescue (vers 1394 - vers 1476), jurisconsulte anglais.
Il était en 1442 grand-juge du banc du roi. Il jouit de la faveur de Henri VI d'Angleterre, qui le nomma chancelier, mais il perdit tout crédit à l'avènement d'Edouard IV d'Angleterre et fut poursuivi comme partisan de la maison de Lancastre.
Il accompagna la reine Marguerite d'Anjou dans sa fuite en Flandre, et fut pris après la bataille de Tewkesbury (1471). Il obtint cependant sa grâce du vainqueur, et mourut dans la retraite.
On a de lui un traité De laudibus legum Angliie, imprimé seulement sous Henri VIII d'Angleterre.
