J. Wellington Wimpy (Gontran en version française) est un personnage de fiction de l'univers de Popeye.
C'est un homme corpulent portant veste, cravate et petit chapeau. Son visage est presque inexpressif, ses yeux presque toujours fermés, il a un gros nez et une bouche presque invisible.
Son trait de caractère principal : il est un grand amateur de hamburgers, mais n'a pas toujours les moyens de s'en acheter un. Il est donc souvent forcé de berner les autres pour satisfaire son besoin.
C'est un ami de Popeye, et ce dernier est probablement son seul ami. La plupart des gens le détestent parce qu'il est lâche, paresseux et opportuniste (Wimpy signifie d'ailleurs "faiblard" ou "lâche" en anglais).

La chaîne de restauration rapide Wimpy a été nommée ainsi en son honneur.
