Jeffrey Renwick Weeks est un mathématicien américain. Il a obtenu son doctorat à l'université de Princeton en 1985 sous la direction de William Thurston, lauréat en 1982 de la médaille Fields.
Il s'intéresse en particulier à la géométrie des variétés de dimension 3, ainsi qu'à leur applications possibles à la cosmologie (voir Topologie de l'univers). Il a notamment promu en 2003 l'hypothèse selon laquelle l'univers serait en réalité un espace dodécaédrique de Poincaré[1] en vue d'expliquer diverses anomalies présentes dans les anisotropies à grande échelle du fond diffus cosmologique observées par le satellite artificiel WMAP.
Il a créé un logiciel (SnapPea) pour l'étude des variétés hyperboliques de dimension 3.
Une variété hyperbolique compacte de dimension 3 de volume supposé minimal porte le nom de variété de Weeks ou espace de Weeks.
