Helen Maria Williams (17 juin 1761[1] - 15 décembre 1827[2]) était une romancière anglaise, une poétesse et une traductrice d'ouvrages en langue française. En rupture avec l'Église d'Angleterre, elle était en faveur de l'abolition de l'esclavage ainsi que des idéaux de la Révolution française. Emprisonnée à Paris durant la Terreur, elle passa cependant une grande partie de sa vie en France. Elle est particulièrement connue pour sa traduction en anglais de l'œuvre de Bernardin de Saint-Pierre, Paul et Virginie.
