Back in Black est le 7e album du groupe de hard rock australien AC/DC sorti en 1980.

Bon Scott, chanteur compositeur et leader du groupe, est mort étouffé par ses vomissements (dus à un excès d'alcool) durant l'écriture et la composition de l'album. L'écriture de celui-ci a pu être finalisée lorsque Brian Johnson fut trouvé pour remplacer Bon Scott.

Back in Black est ainsi très marqué par la mort de Bon, notamment avec des chansons comme Have A Drink On Me ou Hells Bells, sans oublier Back in Black.

La pochette de l'album est entièrement noire, y figurent simplement le nom du groupe et le titre de l'album en caractères blanc (pour le CD - en vinyle, c'est indiqué en noir, mais en caractères gaufrés, en léger relief).

Il reste à ce jour l'album de rock le plus vendu de tous les temps avec un total de 50 millions d'albums vendus[1],[2] et le deuxième album le plus vendu de l'histoire derrière l'album Thriller du chanteur Michael Jackson, vendu entre 47 et 108 millions d'exemplaires.
