Hamadan ou Hamedan (en persan : همدان) est une très ancienne ville. Elle fut durant tout un temps la capitale de la Perse sous le nom d'Ecbatane. Elle est aujourd'hui la capitale de la province du même nom en Iran.
Hamedan était un point de passage obligé pour les routes commerciales entre la Mésopotamie et le reste de l'Iran.
Le tombeau d'Avicenne se trouve à Hamedan.
