L'hallux (du latin Hallus) est le plus long orteil des membres postérieurs[1] chez les tétrapodes qui possèdent des doigts aux membres postérieurs. Les primates et les oiseaux en possèdent. On parle de gros orteil chez l'humain.

Chez les rapaces, cette griffe est opposable aux autres griffes des serres, comme le pouce est opposable aux autres doigts de la main chez l'humain.
Chez l'humain, il existe une pathologie sur ce doigt, l'hallux valgus.
