Le hacklab, media hacklab ou hackerspace est un lieu autonome où un groupe de gens expérimentent, diffusent et débattent sur les thèmes en relation avec Internet, les nouvelles technologies et les droits civils, d'un point de vue social. Le terme vient de la fusion entre hacker et laboratoire.
On y privilégie les systèmes d'organisation et d'apprentissage collaboratifs, et l'utilisation de logiciels libres est préconisée.
Les premiers hacklabs sont apparus en Italie suite au premier hackmeeting italien en 1998.
