Biographie
Albert Mom (1921-2005) est un peintre orientaliste.
Il étudie à l'école des Beaux-Arts de Paris puis à la Fondation Tiffany de New York. Il s'installe ensuite en France. De 1964 à 1972 il effectue de nombreux voyages en Algérie et au Maroc et finit par s'installer à Essaouira (Maroc) en 1973. Il devient membre de la Société des Peintres Orientalistes Français.
L'artiste est réputé pour son travail au fusain, ces peintures étaient rehaussées grâce à cette technique et ainsi, ils leurs donnaient vie, comme se plaisait-il à le souligner. Ses œuvres sont vendues à des musées et à de prestigieux collectionneurs privés comme le duc de Nemours et des dignitaires marocains.
