Alan de Galloway ou Alan FitzRoland (1175-1234), est le fils de Roland de Galloway ou Lachlan et d'Hélène de Morville. Il est né vers 1186 et mort en 1234. Il épouse en secondes noces Marguerite la fille de du comte David d'Huntingdon mort en 1219 d'où deux filles
- Derborgail morte en 1290 qui épouse à son tour Jean de Bailleul et devient ainsi la mère du futur roi Jean Balliol.
- Christina morte en 1245/46 épouse de William III Des Forts comte d'Aumale mort en 1260.
Alan de Galloway avait eu d'une première épouse dont l'identité est incertaine une fille Elena qui épousera Roger de Quincy Connétable d'Écosse mort en 1264.
Il était également le père d'un fils illégitime Thomas, prétendant au comté de Galloway en 1234 mort en 1296 après 50 ans de captivité.
