Gerry Goffin est un parolier américain né le 11 février 1939 à Brooklyn, New York.
Il est surtout connu pour son association avec la compositrice Carole King qu'il épouse en 1959. Ensemble, ils écrivent une série de tubes pour The Shirelles, The Crystals, The Drifters, The Righteous Brothers, Aretha Franklin, etc., le plus connu étant sans doute The Loco-Motion, interprété en 1962 par leur baby-sitter Little Eva.
Goffin et King divorcent en 1967. Ils continuent néanmoins à collaborer régulièrement. Gerry Goffin travaille également avec d'autres compositeurs pour The Everly Brothers, The Hollies ou Whitney Houston, entre autres.
