Geoffroy Gaimar (actif v. 1140 ?) était un chroniqueur anglo-normand du XIIe siècle.
La contribution la plus significative de Geoffroy Gaimar à la littérature et à l’histoire médiévales est comme traducteur de vieil anglais en anglo-normand. Son Estoire des Engles, une chronique rimée en octosyllabes rédigée entre 1136 et 1137 pour l’épouse de Ralph FitzGilbert, Constance, est une traduction de grandes parties de la chronique anglo-saxonne à l’aide du recours à des sources latines et françaises.
La version de l’histoire de Brut qu’il affirme avoir écrit est probablement une traduction versifiée de la chronique de Geoffroy de Monmouth en vieux français. La disparition de l’Estoire des Bretons ne montre sa dette à l’égard de Geoffroy de Monmouth qu’à travers sa connaissance de l’histoire légendaire de Geoffroy.
