Everything But the Girl
Everything But The Girl est un duo d'artistes britanniques créé en 1982. Il est composé de Tracey Thorn (chanteuse) et Ben Watt (compositeur, musicien, chanteur).
Leur musique est influencée par le jazz et la pop, avec une utilisation prononcée de l'électronique sur les derniers albums. C'est le titre Missing, notamment dans sa version remixée en 1996 par Todd Terry façon house, qui les a fait connaître d'un public plus large.
Le duo a collaboré à l'album Protection de Massive Attack. Tracey Thorn travaille actuellement en studio sur son premier album solo dont la sortie est prévue pour le printemps 2007.

Anecdotes
- Le nom d'Everything But The Girl vient du slogan d'un magasin de literie, qui promettait « tout, sauf la fille » (sous-entendu la vendeuse).
- Marc Lavoine fait allusion au groupe dans sa chanson Tu me manques tant (album L’Heure d’été, 2005) : « Tu me manques tant/Je me sens si seul/Que j’écoute Everything/Que j’écoute Everything/Everything But The Girl »
