Elgin Watch Company (National Watch Company) est une manufacture horlogère fondée en 1864.

Certains des associés fondateurs provenaient de Waltham Watch Company, soit P.S. Bartlett, D.G. Currier, Otis Hoyt, Charles H. Mason et autres pionniers de l'industrialisation horlogère initiée par Aaron Lufkin Dennison. L'idée de créer une importante manufacture horlogère dans le mid-West avait été envisagée et discutée avec J.C. Adams, Bartlett and Blake. Suite à un voyage d'étude à Waltham dans le Massachusetts, Adams retourna à Chicago et approcha Benjamin W. Raymond, un ancien maire de la ville, afin de constituer le capital nécessaire. Adams et Raymond réussirent à convaincre d'autres investisseurs d'apporter leur support financier.

The National Watch Co (Elgin) fut ainsi fondée en août 1864. La fabrique fut localisée à Elgin dans l'Illinois, où la ville fit donation d'un site couvrant 35 acres (142 000 m²). La fabrique fut terminée en 1866 et le premier mouvement produit, de taille américaine 18, « full plate design », fut marqué « B.W. Raymond ». La compagnie ferma ses portes en 1964, après avoir produit près de la moitié du total des montres de poches manufacturées aux États-Unis (les montres « dollar-type » non comptées).
