Poirot joue le jeu est un roman policier d'Agatha Christie. Il paraît pour la première fois en 1956 sous le titre Dead Man's Folly et met en scène Hercule Poirot et Ariadne Oliver.

Synopsis

Mrs.Oliver, célèbre écrivain de romans policiers, invite Poirot à participer à une chasse à l'assassin. Celle-ci se déroulera dans le domaine de Georges Stubbs. Mais les évènements ne se déroulent pas comme prévu. La fausse victime en devient une vraie, et Hattie, la femme de Georges vient à disparaitre. Hercule Poirot, déjà sur place, ne peut tenter de resister à connaître la vérité. Et, comme à chacune de ses enquêtes, il la connaîtra et déterrera de vieux souvenirs.

Adaptations

Le roman a été adapté à l'écran pour la première fois en 1986 avec Peter Ustinov dans le rôle de Poirot, et Jean Stapleton dans celui de Mrs. Oliver.

Une nouvelle adaption de l'œuvre avec David Suchet doit être tournée en 2007. Elle fera partie de la série télévisée Agatha Christie's Poirot.
