David Durand, ministre protestant et écrivain français, né vers 1680 à Saint-Pargoire (Hérault), mort le 16 janvier 1763 à Londres, oncle de David-Henri Durand (1731-1808).
Biographie
Il fut obligé de quitter la France à cause de sa religion, séjourna quelque temps en Hollande où il se lia avec Pierre Bayle, se rendit en 1714 à Londres, où il fut nommé ministre d'une église française, et y mourut à 82 ans. Il est devenu membre de la Royal Society le 16 janvier 1729.
