Cette espèce nocturne se rencontre dans de nombreux pays autour du Moyen Orient.
C'est un gecko plutôt gris, avec des taches plus sombres sur le dos, qui se transforment en bandes transversales sur la queue.

Il est à noter que jusqu'en 2000 cette espèce s'appelait Cyrtopodion scaber, et a été renommée en Cyrtopodion scabrum.

Répartition géographique

On trouve ce gecko au Moyen Orient (Iran, Iraq, Arabie saoudite, Afghanistan…), en Afrique (Égypte, Éthiopie…) ainsi qu'en Inde.
