Le Culavamsa ou Choolavansha ("dernière généalogie"), compilée par des moines bouddhistes singhalais, couvre une période allant du IVe siècle après J.-C. à la prise de contrôle de Ceylan par les Anglais en 1815. Avec les chroniques du Dipavamsa et du Mahavamsa, le Culavamsa donne une description historique continue de Sri Lanka sur plus de deux mille ans.
