Un composant pris sur étagère (commercial off-the-shelf ou COTS) est un mot d'origine anglo-saxonne utilisé dans le jargon électronique français pour désigner un composant fabriqué en grande série et non pour un projet en particulier.
Les composants pris sur étagère sont de plus en plus utilisés dans les projets dans le but de réduire les coûts de fabrication et de maintenance.
