Après les projets de drones en forme d'hélicoptère ou de libellule... voici la version chauve-souris.
Ce petit véhicule, dont le prototype devrait être finalisé d'ici 2013, sera équipé d'ailes battantes, à l'instar de l'animal fétiche de Batman.
C'est un sonar qui lui permettra de trouver son chemin. Com-bat, c'est le nom de ce projet porté par l'armée américaine, permettant, lors d'un conflit armé, de survoler le terrain adverse afin d'espionner les activités de l'ennemi. Tout en étant quasiment indétectable grâce à ses 15 centimètres de long et à son poids de 100 grammes. Cela ne l'empêche pas d'être garni de toute une série d'équipement : des caméras miniaturisées, des micros ou encore des capteurs sensibles aux radiations nucléaires et aux gaz toxiques.
