Le Chiemgau est une région en Bavière, au pied des Alpes. Elle s’étend autour du plus grand lac de la Bavière, le Chiemsee, surnommé la « mer bavaroise », avec 80 km² de superficie.
Les villes les plus importantes du Chiemgau sont Rosenheim et Traunstein. Dans beaucoup de villages il y a des associations folkloriques qui s’occupent des coutumes, des costumes et des danses traditionnels de cette région pittoresque. Les montagnes permettent en hiver de faire du ski et en été des randonnées, de l’escalade et du parapente.
