Le Grand-duc de Coromandel (Bubo coromandus) est un rapace nocturne appartenant à la famille des strigidae et à la sous-famille des striginae.

On le trouve en Birmanie, Bangladesh, Chine, Inde, Malaisie, Népal, Pakistan et Thaïlande .

Il affecte les zones bien arrosées et les étendues boisées. Seul ou en couple, il habite souvent le même bosquet, année après année.

Saison de nidification: Novembre à avril.

Le nid est fait de branches entremêlées dans la fourche du tronc d'un grand arbre de préférence à proximité de l'eau et souvent à proximité des habitations.
