Les 350 martyrs sont des maronites qui ont été persécutés à cause de leur adhésion au concile de Chalcédoine reconnaissant la double nature du Christ. En l'an 517, des opposants au concile de Chalcédoine massacrèrent[réf. nécessaire] 350 "disciples" de l'abbaye Saint Maron[réf. nécessaire], sur les rives de l'Oronte dans la région d'Apamée en Syrie.
