Bloodwood (littéralement: bois sanglant) est le nom donné à plusieurs groupes d'arbres qui n'ont pas de lien entre eux.
- Pterocarpus erinaceus un arbre à feuilles caduques d'Afrique du Sud aux fleurs jaune orangé. Il produit une sève visqueuse rouge qui est souvent utilisée comme colorant pour noircir les cheveux. Son bois, qui va d'un rose clair à un rouge vif, est très dense. Il est utilisé par les menuisiers pour sa facilité à poncer et sa couleur rouge caractéristique.
- Certains Corymbia, arbres de la famille des Myrtaceae proches des eucalyptus australiens. Le nom de bloodwood qui est attribué à ces arbres est dû à l'abondante gomme rouge foncée ou brune qui apparaît en cas de blessure du tronc.
- Brosimum paraense, un arbre originaire du Brésil. Son bois est appelé bloodwood à cause de sa couleur rouge. Il a une texture très fine et demande un bon polissage.
