Valley girl (stéréotype)

Le terme Valley girl est un stéréotype élevé au rang de classe socio-économique désignant des femmes américaines qui peuvent être décrites comme étant anglophones, matérialistes, ego-centrées, hédonistes, et souvent de moeurs légères. Leur langage ("valspeaks") est une autre forme caractéristique de ce groupe, basé sur une version exagérée de l'anglais californien des années 1980.

Le terme se réfère à l'origine aux filles plus ou moins riches des classes moyennes et aisées qui vivent dans les cités dortoirs de la banlieue de la vallée de San Fernando en Californie.
