Thomas Faed (8 juin 1826 - 17 août 1900) était un peintre écossais né à Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbrightshire (sud de l'Écosse), et le frère de John Faed.
Il reçut son éducation artistique à l'école de design d'Édimbourg et fut élu associé de la Royal Scottish Academy en 1849. Il vint à Londres trois années plus tard, fut élu associé de la Royal Academy en 1861, et académicien en 1864, et retraité en 1893. Il a eu du succès comme peintre de la vie quotidienne et eut une force d'exécution remarquable.
Trois de ses tableaux, The Silken Gown, Faults on Both Sides, et The Highland Mother sont à la Tate Gallery et deux autres, Highland Mary et The Reaper sont accrochées à la Aberdeen Art Gallery. Son œuvre la plus connue, The Last of the Clan, completé en 1865, est à la Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum à Glasgow[1]. Il est mort à Londres en 1900.
