The Parlotones est un groupe de pop rock basé à Johannesbourg, en Afrique du Sud.

Biographie

Le chanteur des Parlotones, Kahn Morbee, a commencé à apprendre la guitare à l'âge de 17 ans. A l'été 1998, on lui présente Neil Pauw, un batteur qui était au même lycée que lui. En écoutant les chansons de Morbee, ils se sont découverts des points communs et ont décidé de créer un groupe ensemble.

A l'Université, Morbee a rencontré le guitariste Paul Hodgson. Un jour, ils se sont fait virer de la librairie parce qu'ils y jouaient de la guitare. Morbee lui demande alors de venir à une de leur répétition. Après avoir écouté et aimé les chansons, il a rejoint le groupe.


Depuis la sortie de 'A World Next Door to Yours' en octobre 2007, The Parlotones a vendu plus de 200 000 albums et 70 000 places de concerts en Afrique du Sud.
