The Boy Hairdressers est un groupe de rock indépendant écossais, actif du milieu des années 1986 à 1989, fondé à Bellshill dans le North Lanarkshire.
Un groupe de Pop
The Boy Hairdressers était composé de Norman Blake (chant, guitare), Raymond McGinley (guitare), Joe McAlinden (basse, violon), Jim Lambie (vibraphone), et Francis MacDonald (batterie). Les chansons sont résolument pop californienne, dans le style des Byrds.
Le groupe n'a sorti qu'un maxi 45 tours sur le label 53rd & 3rd de Stephen Pastel. pourtant the Boy Hairdressers est loin d'être insignifiant puisque à la séparation du groupe, Blake et McGinley partent fonder Teenage Fanclub.
