Stevan Harnad (Étienne Harnad, Hernád István Róbert, Hesslein István) né le 2 juin 1945 à Budapest, est chercheur en sciences cognitives.
Biographie
Harnad a fait ses études de 1er et de 2e Cycle à l'université McGill, son doctorat à l'université Princeton et est actuellementl titulaire de la chaire de recherche du Canada en science cognitives à l'université du Québec à Montréal[1] ainsi que professeur adjoint en électronique et informatique à l'université de Southampton. Ses recherches portent sur la catégorisation, la communication et la connaissance. Fondateur et ancien directeur de Behavioral and Brain Sciences (publiée par Cambridge University Press) et l'archive électronique CogPrints, Harnad est ancien président de la Society for Philosophy and Psychology, membre externe de l'Académie de sciences de la Hongrie[2] et auteur de plus de 300 publications en sciences cognitives[3] et en communication scientifique[4].
