Solanum macranthum aussi appelé arbre patate avec Ipomoea arborescens, est une arbre de la famille des Solanacées, originaire du Brésil.
Il peut atteindre 10 m de hauteur. C'est le seul arbre de la famille des Solanaceae.
Les feuilles peuvent atteindre 30 cm de long, alternes, presque sessiles, fortement découpées et nervurées avec les nervures périphériques piquantes.
Il donne des fleurs bleues, pourpres et blanches rappelant celles de la pomme de terre mais pouvant atteindre 10 cm de diamètre.
Le fruit rond et vert est toxique.
