Rupert Oliver Matthews (né en 1961) est un homme politique britannique, membre du Parti Conservateur. A la suite de la démission annoncée de Roger Helmer[1] , il deviendra, à la fin de l’année 2011[2], député européen pour les Midlands de l'Est. Lors des élections européennes de 2009, il était le prochain sur la liste du Parti Conservateur.
En plus de ses activités politiques, il est également un auteur très prolifique. Il a écrit plus de 200 ouvrages sur des sujets aussi variés que l’histoire, la cryptozoologie, les fantômes, les OVNI, ainsi que les activités paranormales. Matthews donne également des cours en ligne sur le paranormal pour le compte du l’Université Internationale de Métaphysique.[3]
