Best of

Un best of (expression anglaise signifiant littéralement « le meilleur de... » et qui se traduit en français par compilation, anthologie, florilège, meilleurs moments, etc.) consiste en un regroupement, dans n'importe quel domaine, des meilleures productions d'un contexte donné (par exemple d'un même auteur, ou de divers auteurs d'un domaine donné pendant une même période etc.).

Utilisation

Ce terme est particulièrement utilisé en musique, par la création de compilations des meilleurs morceaux (le plus souvent assimilés en réalité aux meilleures ventes) d'un artiste ou d'un groupe, pendant une période donnée.

On le retrouve également dans le monde de la télévision ou des émissions présentent un regroupement des meilleurs moments selon un thème donné. L'émission le Zapping diffusée sur Canal+ repose d'ailleurs essentiellement sur ce principe.
