Mitch Leigh - né le 30 janvier 1928 à Brooklyn, New York - est un compositeur de musique de comédie musicale et un producteur de théâtre connu surtout pour avoir composé le show L'Homme de la Mancha qui sera joué 2328 fois en 6 ans dès 1965[1].
Biographie
Son nom est Irwin Michnick. Il est gradué de Yale Master of Music en 1952 par Paul Hindemith.
Il gagne deux Tony Award en 1966[2].
- Man of la Mancha créé en 1965
- La chanson titre, The impossible Dream, (The Quest), sera reprise par une cinquantaine d'interprètes.
- Chu Chem. créé en 1971, repris en 1989.
- Cry For Us All, d'après la pièce "Hogan's Goat", créé à Broadway en 1970.
- Home Sweet Somer, avec Yul Brynner, en 1975.
- Ain't Broadway Grand! en 1993
