Michael Verdi (né le 12 novembre 1980 et mort le 18 juin 2010) est un catcheur américain plus connu sous le nom de Trent Acid.

Trent catche surtout en équipe, et fait équipe avec Johnny Kashmere sous le nom de The Backseat Boyz, dans plusieurs promotions américaines, incluant Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Unplugged, et Combat Zone Wrestling et en solo à la Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Carrière

Combat Zone Wrestling

Trent Acid a catché à la Combat Zone Wrestling. Il débuta à la CZW en 1999. À son premier Cage of Death, il a fait équipe avec White Lotus face à the Kashmerinoes de Johnny Kashmere et Robbie Mireno. Acid catche plusieurs fois face à Kashmere dans l'équipe The Backseat Boyz. The Backseat Boyz devient une grande équipe et s'empare du titre CZW Tag Team Championship. Acid catche aussi dans la singles division et remporte la ceinture CZW World Junior Heavyweight Championship 3 fois, catchant face à Ruckus et Justice Pain pour le titre. Il devint le second Best of the Best winner en battant Jody Fleisch en final du Best of the Best 2. En septembre 2003, Acid remporte le CZW Iron Man Championship en battant Nick Gage et Jimmy Rave dans un three way match.

Trent Acid et Johnny Kashmere rejoingne l'écurie Hi-V et s'attaquent à Zandig et son ultraviolent team. La rivalité prend fin à Cage of Death V dans un Cage of Death match. Acid défend son titre dans un Iron Man Championship face à Jimmy Rave. Le match va jusqu'à un match nul, mais il recommence et Rave remporte le titre. Acid participe au Cage of Death mais il se fait éliminé. The Hi-V est séparé quand The Backseat Boyz quitte la CZW. Acid retourne à la CZW en 2004 et débuta une rivalité avec Teddy Hart et Messiah. Il quitta le CZW une nouvelle fois.

Le 14 juin 2008, Acid revient à la CZW et fait face au World Champion Nick Gage dans un match qui n'était pas pour le titre.

Ring of Honor

Trent Acid catche à la Ring of Honor en 2002. Lui et Johnny Kashmere battent Homicide et Steve Corino dans un match inter-promotions entre ROH et CZW au premier Glory By Honor. The Backseat Boyz catchent alors régulièrement ROH. Après cette rivalité, The Backseat Boyz remportent le titre ROH Tag Team Championship en battant dans un Spécial K au dernier tour du gauntlet match pour le titre vacant. The Backseat Boyz est la première équipe a remporter les ceintures CZW et ROH Tag Team Championships. Acid et Kashmere perdent les ceintures dans un Spécial K au show suivant. Après, Johnny Kashmere quitte la ROH et Acid continue sa carrière en solo. À Testing The Limit, il lance un challenge à Samoa Joe pour le titre ROH World Championship, sans le remporter. Il participa au Scramble Cage Melee main event dans la scramble cage. Acid catche à Final Battle 2004 face à Jimmy Jacobs. Après le match, il quitte la ROH.

Pro Wrestling Unplugged

Trent Acid rejoint la Pro Wrestling Unplugged en 2004, ayant des rivalité face à Homicide, 2 Cold Scorpio, et Devon Moore pour le titre PWU World Heavyweight. Acid le transforme en world title après avoir remporté le titre Mexicain.

En 2005, Trent débute une rivalité face à Hellter Skelter. Acid bat Skelter dans un "Philadelphia Street Fight" match le 20 août 2005. La rivalité continu en 2007, le 23 novembre 2007, Acid accepte le match retour et perd face à Skelter, avec l'aide de la WWE diva Sunny.

Acid revient à la PWU, après une blessure au pied, le 16 mars 2008, à Haunted, face au Television Champion ZBarr.

Juggalo Championship Wrestling

En 2007, il fait des apparitions à la Juggalo Championship Wrestling pour une saison sur SlamTV!. Il catche sous le nom de "Holy" Trent Acid. Trent remporte le titre JCW World Heavyweight en battant Corporal Robinson à West Side Wars, mais le perd face à Corp à East Side Wars dans un steel cage.

Pro Wrestling Syndicate

Trent catche dans la nouvelle promotion Pro Wrestling Syndicate où il a catché face à Alex Shelley, Human Tornado, Danny Doring, Justin Credible et Sabu.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

Il catche en juin 2007 à la Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, à Garfield, NJ où dans un triple threat match et fait face à Alex Shelley et Human Tornado.

Vie Privée

Michael Verdi se fait arrêter en 2009 à Philadelphie en possession de pilules de Percocet sans prescription médicale. Il est libéré sans payer de caution. Trent Acid a déjà été emprisonné durant 9 mois pour possession de drogues.

Décès

C'est le 18 juin 2010 que l'on apprendra le décès du jeune lutteur. Il a en effet été retrouvé par sa mère, sans vie, à son domicile^[1].
