Le cortex entorhinal (CE ou EC en anglais pour Entorhinal Cortex) est un important centre de la mémoire dans le cerveau. Le CE constitue la principale entrée à l'hippocampe et est responsable du traitement préalable des signaux d'entrée. Dans le cadre de réponses "réflexes", l'association des impulsions de l'œil et l'oreille se produit dans le cortex entorhinal. Le système CE-hippocampe joue un rôle important dans la consolidation de la mémoire et de son optimisation durant le sommeil.
