La convention de Gastein est signée le 14 août 1865 par l'Autriche et la Prusse à Bad Gastein, en Autriche. Elle vise à résoudre l'affaire des duchés de Schleswig et de Holstein, cédés conjointement aux deux pays par le Danemark après la guerre des Duchés.
La convention attribue l'administration du Schleswig à la Prusse et celle du Holstein à l'Autriche, qui vend également ses droits sur le Lauenbourg à la Prusse. Cet arrangement disparaît dès l'année suivante avec la guerre austro-prussienne, déclenchée par la Prusse sous le prétexte d'une mauvaise gestion du Holstein par l'Autriche.
