La commune d'Halliste est une municipalité rurale d'Estonie, au sud du pays, près de la frontière lettone qui appartient à la région de Viljandi. Sa population, en constante diminution, était de 1 697 habitants au 1er janvier 2010. Elle s'étend sur une surface de 266,4 km2. Son chef-lieu administratif est le bourg (alevik) d'Halliste (autrefois: Hallist).

Municipalité

La municipalité comprend deux bourgs: Halliste et Õisu, ainsi que les villages suivants: Ereste, Hõbemäe, Kaarli, Kalvre, Kulla, Maru, Mulgi, Mõõnaste, Naistevalla, Niguli, Pornuse, Päidre, Päigiste, Raja, Rimmu, Saksaküla, Sammaste, Tilla, Toosi, Uue-Kariste, Vabamasti, Vana-Kariste et Ülemõisa.
