Access Virus est un synthétiseur numérique à modélisation créé par la compagnie allemande Access Music GmbH[1]. Il a été produit pour la première fois en 1997 et se développe fréquemment tous les deux ans. Les premiers modèles incluent les séries Virus A, Virus B et Virus C, chacune disponible avec différentes configurations. En novembre 2005, la série Virus TI est commercialisée. Un petit modèle de bureau est commercialisé en 2008 et nommé Virus TI Snow.

Détails techniques

L'Access Virus emploie de différentes synthèses techniques telles que la synthèse sonore soustractive, la synthèse FM et les tables d'ondes utilisées depuis la série TI.

Tous les Access Virus sont des synthétiseurs numériques à modélisation analogique à processeur de signal numérique (PSN). Ils possèdent une style analogique d'oscillation qui peut être modifié d'un signal sinusoïdal à un signal carré clair et propre. La section du filtre est hautement programmable, exposant deux filtres résonnant indépendamment qui peuvent être combinés et modulés de différents manières.

Utilisateurs notables

L'Access Virus est largement utilisé dans les domaines musicaux de la trance et de la techno par des artistes tels que Headhunterz, Angerfist, Luca Anzilotti alias John VIRGO Garrett III de Snap!, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Sammy et Sasha[2]. Malgré son utilisation pour les gros sons habituellement utilisés dans les boîtes de nuit, ce synthétiseur est également utilisé par des artistes comme TOOL, Covenant, Periphery, Nine Inch Nails, Craig Burrows, Gary Numan, Thomas Dolby, Depeche Mode, Celine Dion, Dr. Dre, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Radiohead, Stevie Wonder et le compositeur Hans Zimmer[3].
