Zacharias (Zacharie) était un évêque de Mételin, mort avant 553.

Zacharias, évêque de Mételin, dit le Scolastique, contemporain et ami d’Énée, Gazéen comme lui, s’occupa aussi de la création du monde dans son dialogue Ammonios, ou de la création du monde.

Zacharias était très instruit de la philosophie de Platon et d’Aristote, ce qui ressort à la lecture de son dialogue. Il connaît le Timée, le Phédon, le Phèdre, les théories d’Aristote sur les causes, la puissance, l’acte, la forme, la matière et la critique qu’il a faite aux idées platoniciennes. Quant aux Pères de l’Église il se rapporte à saint Basile et surtout à Grégoire de Nysse, le Théologos.
