Washout

Washout est un super-héros appartenant à l'univers de Marvel Comics. Il est apparu pour la première fois en 2002, dans X-Force #129, créé par Peter Milligan et Mike Allred.

Origine

Né dans le Bronx, John Lopez découvrit qu'il avait le pouvoir mutant de générer de l'eau de son propre corps. Il chercha à devenir populaire en passant les auditions d'un super-groupe médiatique, X-Force, mais il échoua.

Il fut approché par Malcolm Colcord, le Directeur du Projet Weapon X. Ses pouvoirs furent augmentés et il les testa en tuant un simple garde.

Toutefois, les modifications n'étaient pas sans danger, et bientôt Lopez commença à se déshydrater dangereusement. Se sentant condamné par les expériences menées sur son corps, il voulut se venger de Colcord et il rejoignit le groupe de Brent Jackson, alors allié avec Cable. Il créa un court-circuit qui permit au groupe à s'infiltrer dans le complexe, mais, trop fatigué par l'effort, il mourut avant d'avoir pu tuer le Directeur.

Pouvoirs

  • Washout était un mutant aquamorphe pouvant transformer son corps ou ses membres en eau, dont il variait la forme à volonté. Il pouvait aussi relâcher cette eau avec une forte pression, ou encore attirer ses adversaires en lui pour les noyer.
  • On l'a aussi vu manipuler l'eau contenu dans le corps de ses ennemis pour les faire exploser dans l'intérieur.
  • Sous sa forme liquide, Washout était insensible aux impacts physiques.
