Mouvement pour l'extinction volontaire de l'humanité
Le Mouvement pour l'extinction volontaire de l'humanité, ou VHEMT (de l'anglais Voluntary Human Extinction MovemenT), propose que l'humanité organise pacifiquement l'extinction de son espèce. La méthode qu'il prône pour atteindre cette fin ne relève ni de la violence, ni de la coercition, ni de l'incitation au suicide, mais simplement du choix individuel de ne pas se reproduire.
Leur slogan est « Puissions-nous vivre longtemps et disparaître » (« May we live long and die out »). L'objectif premier étant de permettre à la biosphère de « retrouver une bonne santé », plaçant ainsi la Terre comme une priorité par rapport à l'existence de l'espèce humaine.
