Unity Mitford
Unity Valkyrie Mitford (8 août 1914 - 28 mai 1948), l'une des Sœurs Mitford née à Londres et cousine de Clementine Hozier, qui épousa Winston Churchill. Elle fut éduquée à St Margaret's School à Bushey, Hertfordshire.
Unity Mitford se rend en Allemagne, où elle rencontre Adolf Hitler. En septembre 1939, en apprenant que le Royaume-Uni entre en guerre contre l'Allemagne, elle écrit une lettre d'adieu à Hitler et se tire une balle dans la tête. La tentative de suicide échoue, mais cause des dommages cérébraux importants et Unity Mitford est rapatriée en Grande-Bretagne, où elle vit avec sa mère. En 1948, elle meurt d'une méningite causée par le gonflement du cerveau autour de la balle.
