United Nations Location Code
UN/LOCODE (United Nation/LOcation CODE) est un code géographique élaboré et géré par la Commission économique des Nations unies pour l'Europe (CEE-ONU ou UNECE en anglais), un organisme de l'Organisation des Nations unies.
UN/LOCODE défini plus de 42000 codes pour des localisations géographiques avec des fonctions tels que des aéroports, gares, axe routier, centre de tri postal, ports et d'autres lieux qui servent au commerce ou au transport dans 234 pays.
Le code UN/LOCODE est constitué de cinq caractères : les deux premiers sont des lettres et proviennent de la liste des pays en norme ISO 3166-1 alpha 2. Les trois caractères suivants caractérisent le lieu. Ce sont normalement des lettres mais s’il n'y a pas assez de combinaisons possibles, les chiffres de 2 à 9 peuvent aussi être utilisés.

Fonctions
Chaque fonction est défini par un nombre, les plus importants sont :
1 = port
2 = terminal de chemin de fer
3 = terminal autoroutier
4 = aéroport
5 = centre de tri postal
